Assignment to illustrate a sign of the zodiac. This is Aquarious. (It's almost my birthday!)

I accidentally painted this backwards, this is the image flipped properly, although it's cropped terribly because it didn't quite fit in my scanner. There's another two inches on top and maybe half an inch on both sides. I painted this with ink and coffee stain, the linework is composites of photocopy transfers. (Of my own drawings.) The photocopy transfer is why ended up painting it backwards.

The waterbearer, and also you can't tell what someone is thinking or how "deep" they are based on what comes out of their mouths. Not everyone can be an epic communicator!

i lOVE working with coffee stains. Such a natural beauty about it. I like to sit down in a cafe with a latte and draw gestures using the latte as another median.

very interesting, love the palette and the accidental "bad" cropping. would be interesting to see you expand on this and do all the zodiac signs. really enjoy this one.
